The European Commission offers a multitude of funding programmes, which cover a wide range of areas such as research, environment, energy, small businesses, regional development, communication and others. In the funding period 2007-2013, the focus is set on the promotion of economic growth and employment in the European economy and the main attention is paid to the small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
